Unlike conformation, and coursing (both open field and lure coursing) where the judging is subjective, racing judging is very simple but difficult at times. In racing the first dog to cross the finish line is the winner. The difficulty comes when all the dogs in the race cross the finish line within a fraction of a second or at best maybe a second difference in all of them. It does make for some exciting finishes.
