11. Have you been involved in racing, lure coursing, obedience or other than Showing with your whippets?
We began coursing our first whippet in 1976 and have been hooked ever since. My first obedience whippet was a little black and white rescue whippet we had named Scram I'm Garnet F CH, CD, ....aka "Jennie" She proved to be an easy one to train and loved lure coursing. Quite a few more CD's followed her. Our Wistwind's Easy Livin' CGC, CD, TRP, LCM II, CR, ARX, Can FCH, AV was a Top 10 placer in the AWC's National Triathlon for 4 yrs. 10. Is there any dog or bitch, not owned or bred by you that you
feel is an Outstanding representative of the breed? Who? Why?
One dog that I always admired and DROOLED over was Ch Hound Hill Strategist......he made me get CHILLS just looking at him. Watching him move was very impressive too. He was bred by Cora Miller (Hound Hill) and owned by Louise and Nino Spiga, (Saturn). He was a gorgeous red fawn with white trim , of moderate size, with a beautiful head and expression. Louise DID use him at stud and he sired a dog that we used twice, and who produced many champions, Ch Saturn's Star Duster FCh ROMX aka "Jerome".
In my humble opinion, if Strategist were around now, he would be rattling lots of trees.
A bitch that we admire is "Nellie" aka Ch. Shamasan Flame 'N Queen, ARX, DPCX, CR, JC, ROM
She more than proved herself in the ring and in the field. She is truly versatile!
