Siv has passed on her elegant type, long body and neck good size and temperament. I think her puppies are in many ways better than her, they have in the nice way inherited best virtues from mom and dad, which I value..  Also her children and grandchildren have been successful producers and strongly pass on that same type.

7.  We are doing CERF, BAER and more and more Heart testing.  Are there any concerns in Sweden  and what testing do you do there ?

There aren’t any big problems, which I know, at a moment. At 80- 90’s there were some autoimmune sickness in whippets. We are starting to do some heart examinations little by little. Eyes have been checked quite much lately. I have only heard of couple eye/heart problems.

8. You have done some breeding with dogs from the USA.  What are you hoping to incorporate into your bloodline from these breedings?

I have not used so many American bred dogs directly, but I have favoured American blood lines in my breeding.

I started breeding with bitches from English bloodlines. Henrik Härling had imported Nina, Peperone Piaffe from England and he lent her to me to have a litter.

Siv, Ch Play a While Fantasiregn is born in Sweden, her dad Kim, Ch Play a While at Peperone was imported from England. Siv’s mom Balzac Röda Rummet was born in Sweden, but her mom Ch Marash Melody of Bayard came from England in whelp to a Ch Carmodian Tawny Knight of Hutaka.

I mated Nina to Gama, Kipin Kapin Goodfellow, who is son to a Ch Bohem Flight Time (imp.USA). Gama’s mother was half American Kipin Kapin Autumn Sonata (Play a While at Peperone- Autumn Terra Bella Cedar, imp USA) from that litter I kept Greta, Ch Pipsqueak Pistepirkko (born 1995).

Siv I mated to Jeff, Ch Airescot Fandango (Jeff’s father was Ch Airescot Waistcoat who was son of Bohem Callas of Whippoorwil,imp.USA) Jeff’s mother was American bred Ch Merci Isle Whisper to a Purr. From that litter I kept at home Muumi, Ch Pipsqueak Charmtroll (born 1997).

Then I have done some co-operation with American and Canadian breeders. Pat Miller Woodsmoke Whippets from Canada had Muumi there for couple of years. Muumi had litter at Woodsmoke 2000. After having puppies Muumi flew back to Finland with his son Hoccus, Ch Woodsmoke Remarkable Pipsqueak (by Ch Wheatenridge Baccarat Tabasco). Hoccus is handsome dog with very fluent movement, but unfortunately he is huge (54, 3 cm) in to our show rings, it has been a challenge to show him here.
